Calling Potential Volunteers in Bakewell
Calling Potential Volunteers in Bakewell

Concerned members of the Bakewell community are being sought by the Bakewell Safer Neighbourhood Team who are looking for volunteers to patrol the gardens and grounds in the area. The police are looking for these extra pairs of eyes to help tackle crime and anti-social behaviour to help support the current local police. There have been calls to increase the number of police on the streets, which undoubtedly make a difference, but the addition of trained support has been welcomed by all.
Following the success of similar schemes in other areas of Derbyshire, the police will be providing specialised training in dealing with specific behaviours, and are looking to provide high visiblity jackets and mobile phones to ensure that backup can be provided immediately if required.
For more information contact the Bakewell Safer Neighbourhood Team on 0845 123 3333.
