Westfield Derby was the site of centre stage for Children in Need in the area recently. BBC coverage commenced at 1:30PM when hosts Anne Davies and Jonathan Wilkes kicked off the events. There were also special appearances from
Postman Pat, Daleks and the FAB1 car from Thunderbirds. A Pudsey Does Stars in Their Eyes competition featured live performances throughout the day. A spectacular firework display took place just after 9.30pm from the top of the Westfield car park.
The Christmas lights were also partially switched on for the event. A Westfield spokesman confirmed the switch-on was
not the official one, which will take place today. |
