Confiscation order

Posted on Wednesday, 19 November 2008 03:24PM by Editor

Alistair McGuffie was jailed for immigration offences recently, and has just been given a confiscation order and has been ordered to pay £116,743.

McGuffie owned Central Laundry in Nicholson Way, Burton, where five employees – four from the Ukraine and one from Gambia – were arrested in 2006. Four of them were jailed.

McGuffie, 48, of Huddlesford, near Lichfield, admitted immigration offences and was jailed for two years in March 2007.

At court yesterday, he was given 12 months to pay the confiscation order or face a default two-year prison sentence.
