Pauline Latham, Tory
councillor, has criticised East Midlands European member of parliament
Robert Kilroy-Silk after he made an appearance on the "I'm a Celebrity,
Get Me Out Of Here!" television show.
His
move has already been lambasted by MPs and MEPs in the region. Mrs
Latham stood against Mr Kilroy-Silk in the Euro-election in June 2004.
She
said his decision to go on a reality show brought politics into
disrepute. "He should be in Brussels doing the job he was elected to
do," she said.

"He
is taking a salary for representing the people of the East Midlands
but, as far as I am aware, he is never in the region. "I certainly
won't be watching. I will, however, be turning on Strictly Come Dancing
and giving my support to Tom Chambers." |
