A parish council
have voiced their concerns regarding plans for a taxi firm that will
open an office in a school building. The concerns regard Burton's
Ambassador Cars who currently supply taxis for staff and pupils at
Repton School.
It
has
now applied to South Derbyshire District Council to change the use
of a storage building owned by the school in Burton Road, Repton, so it
can operate an office there from 9am to 9pm seven days a week. The firm
also wants to create a parking area for the taxis using three spaces in
a school car park.
Members
of Repton Parish Council raised fears about an increase in traffic and
the impact on the privacy of neighbouring homes. The parish council
requested that district council planners visit the site before making a
decision. |
