Description
The Lathkil Hotel is the place to go for a special break where you’ll find old fashioned hospitality, good food and relaxation served in the heart of the beautiful Peak National Park. Situated in the tiny Derbyshire village of Over Haddon, perched above the stunning Lathkill Dale, just two miles from the historic market town of Bakewell.
We're not part of a chain, we're a friendly local team who want you to enjoy the hotel and the surroundings, and come back again.
Robert Grigor-Taylor has been the landlord of The Lathkil Hotel for the last 27 years. Since then the hotel has been family run.
The present bar is traditional in style, with settles and wooden tables.
It is in fact so traditional that it was recently used as part of the set for the film And When Did I last See My Father? starring Jim Broadbent and Colin Firth.
We have four comfortable, well-equipped double rooms (two can be twinned on request).
All the rooms have television, hair dryer, a mini-bar and tea and coffee making facilities. Three of them have en-suite bathrooms and one an en-suite shower room. All the bedrooms are non-smoking.
At lunchtime food is served in a buffet style with everything laid out for you to see. There is a wide choice ranging from home-made soup with a crusty roll or our filled rolls to main meals like lasagne or ham salad, as well as vegetarian alternatives. There is also a great selection of puddings.
Lunches are served from 12noon till 2.00pm Monday to Friday and 12noon till 2.30pm on Saturday and Sunday.
