The Manor House
Beautiful Grade 2 listed building nr Chesterfield, with designer styled hotel accommodation and on-site contemporary bistro and bar cuisine.

The Manor House, Hotel and Bistro in Dronfield offers visitors a luxurious base from which to explore the Peak District National Park. All of the 11 rooms are uniquely styled on a Hollywood legend (Audrey Hepburn, Sofia Loren etc) by Lisa Designs, and each is maintained to the very highest standards. For those looking for an exciting and fulfilling dining experience, the bistro and bar at Manor House includes varied tapas dishes from an internationally styled menu between 3pm and 8pm, while an excellent lunchtime menu is offered 10am to 3pm, with regular specials available to choose from extended menu board. For overnight guests, a full English breakfast can be enjoyed daily from 7am. So, whether it’s a romantic weekend break or a business night away from home, the Manor House really is one of the best places to stay in North East Derbyshire.

The Manor House, Dronfield is an independent boutique style hotel with on-site bistro and bar privately owned by business partners Stephen Geary and ex-Sheffield United footballer Kevin Gage.

Located in the heart of Dronfield, and set on the edge of the Peak District, the Manor House is also within easy reach of Chesterfield and Sheffield. Both cities offer many leisure, entertainment and shopping facilities, including the Meadow Hall complex – one of the countries largest indoor shopping centres and the Sheffield Arena, which regularly plays host to the top names in musical entertainment and comedy.

This prime location is perfectly situated for any business traveller needing an easy commute to either city, but who is also looking for a quieter location in which to unwind in the evening. The proximity to the outstanding beauty of the Derbyshire Peak District cannot be under valued. A 15min car journey will have visitors exploring the breathtaking grounds of Chatsworth House (home to the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire) or the market and shopping in Bakewell. The famous plague village of Eyam is also within easy reach.

The Grade 2 listed building dates back to 1540, and many original features such as beamed ceilings and stone fireplaces remain in this lovingly and stylishly restored property. In the hotel, all 11 guest rooms have a contemporary theme, each of which was individually styled in a warm and welcoming design.  Room rates (per night) range between £65 for a single room, rising to £80 for a double and £125 for a suite (of which two are available) breakfast included. Complementing the chic boutique designs, all rooms have en-suite facilities and feature a flat screen TV and free wireless internet access.

Down stairs in the main bistro and bar area, a modern but contemporary dining lounge serves a range of cuisine styles throughout the day, catering for whatever your appetite requires. The operating general manager Marie Mason makes sure the day to day needs of guests, diners and a thriving busy business are taken care of.

The menu ranges from a full English breakfast to light lunchtime meals, baguettes and salads to a wonderfully inventive tapas serving from twin chef brothers Sam and Oliver Parnell. Having been completely redesigned by Sam and Oliver, the Manor House menu features tapas dishes inspired by a host of different cultures including Greek salad, Moroccan couscous, Thai fishcakes with sweet chilly dip and lamb kofta kebabs with a minty yogurt dip. There are also more traditional Spanish favourites such as paella, chorizo and garlic prawn dishes. If that’s not to your liking, try the excellent fish and chips complete with mushy peas. And of course not forgetting the delicious deserts, which include a rich and smooth homemade chocolate fudge cake or dark chocolate soufflé. Whatever dish you choose, you will not be disappointed.
