Description
The Red House Country Hotel and Restaurant, north of Matlock, is set within a pretty garden which commands superb views down the Derwent Valley. Constructed in 1891 for a Manchester architect, it marries all the elegance and warmth of a bygone age with modern standards of service and hospitality. We pride ourselves on our high standards of service, which is why our guests stay with us time after time. All guests arriving in the afternoon are offered complimentary afternoon tea with home made cake or biscuits.
The hotel has ten en suite rooms (three on the ground floor in the adjacent Coach House), each individually and comfortably furnished. Two have four-poster beds, and one has an antique French bed. Each has a TV, direct dial phone and a hospitality tray with a wide selection of teas, coffee, hot chocolate and hand-made biscuits.
 
The restaurant situated in the former drawing room, with views over the gardens and valley has an excellent reputation throughout the area. The finest and freshest of produce is used in the kitchens at all times.
Special winter breaks are on offer at the Red House, and in November and December guests staying for three nights or more are given complimentary tickets to see Chatsworth in all its Christmas splendour.
Easily accessible from most parts of Britain, The Red House Country Hotel offers the ideal location for your business meeting or event. Conveniently situated only 25 minutes from the M1, the hotel setting will take you away from the usual busy atmosphere of your daily business life. We can cater for 10 to 15 people and can accommodate a range of different seating arrangements. Enjoy a buffet lunch in the hotel's dining room from a selection of home cooked foods.
The Red House operates a strict no-smoking policy in all parts of the hotel. We regret that we do not take children under the age of twelve.
