Reassurances are being offered to those looking for reliable businesses in the Dales following the launch of a Trusted Trader scheme by Derbyshire County Council. Following this, businesses will be able to sign up to the scheme to demonstrate that they are a trustworthy business. Those who apply will be scrutinised by the council's trading standards team.
Councillor Clive Moesby, cabinet member for community safety said "If you do business in Derbyshire
then you need to know about Trusted Trader. Local people will be able
to find a quality trader by phoning us or looking on our website. By
joining Trusted Trader you are saying that you are a quality, reputable
firm that local people can rely upon."
Applications are open to anyone with a business
base in Derbyshire or who does at least half of their work in the
county can apply. Businesses can either be a sole trader or a limited
company. A short form is available from the council to apply, and application fees are from £34 per year. Those that sign up will be joining around 60 Derbyshire businesses who have already signed up to be a Trusted Trader.
